Big Brother star Monica Sirianni dies aged 37 after 'collapsing in bar on a night out with friends' in Italy | The Sun

ITALIAN Big Brother star Monica Sirianni has died at the age of 37.

It is understood the TV star collapsed at a bar during a night out.

Monica was with pals in the town of Sauveria Mannelli on Friday when she fell ill, according to local media.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and tried to revive her before she was dashed to hospital, where she later died.

Her cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but doctors have not ruled out the possibility Monica suffered a heart attack.

Monica was best known for appearing on the 12th season of Italy's Big Brother between 2011 and 2012.

She was born in Australia after her parents moved to Sydney from Calabria.

As an adult, Monica returned to Italy and lived in a city in Lombardy, reports Ansa.

At the age of 25, she entered the Big Brother house – but was evicted after one month.

During her time on the show, viewers watched as her boyfriend Diego Bevilacqua got frustrated with her flirting with fellow housemate Fabrizio Conti.

She went on to ditch Diego and strike up a romance with Fabrizio, which ended shortly after the show finished.

Monica later turned her back on television and went on to teach English.

Big Brother fans have described Monica as "beautiful" in tributes shared on social media.

One viewer said: "At the time I still watched the programme and I remember it, I'm very sorry.

"A hug to the family."

A second commented: "I wanted to remember this beautiful girl Monica Sirianni, former competitor of Big Brother and now a teacher."

And a third wrote: "It doesn't seem true that she is no longer here."
