The funeral is expected to be the most watched global broadcast in history.

BBC chiefs confirmed that its coverage will be anchored by Huw Edwards – who broke the news of the Queen’s death on BBC One last week. He will be joined by Kirsty Young and David Dimbleby.

Sky’s programming will feature Kay Burley live from Westminster Abbey. She will hand over to Anna Botting and Dermot Murnaghan. Royal events commentator Alastair Bruce will also feature.

ITV’s coverage will be led by Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham. Bosses say they will be conducting the largest outside broadcast in the channel’s history.

The funeral will be shown live and uninterrupted on ITV’s main channel and simultaneously on all of its digital channels. The coverage will be preceded by Good Morning Britain which will preview the funeral.

On Monday evening, ITV will broadcast a documentary chronicling the events of the past 10 days, from the Queen’s death to the state funeral.

There will also be a special programme focusing on the day’s events at 9pm followed by an extended News at Ten.

All of the day’s programming from 6am to midnight will be simulcast on all of ITV’s main channels and five digital channels and hub.

Meanwhile, the BBC’s special programming will air from 8am until 5pm on Monday on BBC One and iPlayer, with BSL signed coverage taking place on BBC Two.

Sky’s coverage will also start at 6am and last throughout the day.
