Blake Shelton hits out at The Voice co-stars as he slams bad coaches

Niall Horan reacts to 15-year-old’s audition on The Voice

The Voice star Blake Shelton brutally slammed his fellow co-stars during Tuesday night’s final Battle Rounds episode, hitting out at the “bad coaches”. Seemingly wanting to go out of his final season with a bang, Blake took aim at Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.

The Voice descended into chaos on Tuesday after Blake appeared to take swipe at his fellow judges Kelly, Chance the Rapper and Niall.

It was right towards the end of the latest episode that a backstage conversation between the stars was caught on camera.

Kelly was chatting to Blake about his “last Battles” before leaving the popular NBC programme.

Conversations seemed civil, until Blake appeared to make a brutal comment about his co-stars, calling them all “bad coaches”.

Blake began saying: “I hate this part. I like the Blinds and then I like when we go live.”

To which Kelly asked: “You’re not a little sad?”

“Of what?” he quickly snapped back as Kelly said: “Your last battles.”

It was then that Blake took his swipe at the judges, explaining: “The only thing that makes me sad about this is I heard how badly you guys have been coaching.”

Seeing the funny side, Kelly cleverly clapped back: “Oh my God. You’re so full of it.”

But seemingly continuing the jibe, Blake added: “That makes me sad for you guys.”

As Kelly clapped back once again: “You’re so empathetic,” while Blake responded, “What does that mean?”

Still laughing about the comment, Kelly replied: “That you have a lot of empathy. That fact that you don’t know what it means…”

It comes just one day after Niall seemed to hint at quitting as a judge on The Voice.

The former One Direction star said he wasn’t ever “coming back” after Monday’s intense follow-up to the competition.

Team Niall singers Ryley Tate Wilson and Michael B caused a stir after their performance of Giveon’s Heartbreak Anniversary.

“That was one of the best performances that we’ve seen in the battle rounds so far,” Chance said. “It was incredible how you guys bounced off of each other.”

Feeling the pressure was Niall, who couldn’t decide after his team’s performance.

“If they ask me to come back (to the show), I’m not coming back,” he said during Monday night’s battle.

Niall added: “I cannot tell you how hard this is. The performance from the two of you was just off the charts. You sung beautifully together.”

The Voice continues Mondays on NBC in the USA.
