Celeb SAS’ Shannon never got to say goodbye to Amber during ‘brutal’ exit: ‘It was gutting!’

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Shannon Courtenay has said that she never got to say goodbye to Amber Gill when she made her sudden exit from the show on Sunday.

During the latest episode, the Love Island star, 25, was forced to quit after failing to complete a physical challenge on the beach after jumping from a helicopter with Shannon in a helocast task.

As Amber was taking part in the task, Directing Staff (DS) Billy (Mark Billingham) warned her: "Ten seconds to get to me otherwise I'm taking your number!"

After failing to complete the challenge, Billy demanded: "Stand up, give me your armband. For you, the war is over!

"Look at me, you're too far behind and you're holding everybody back. Well done, go over there and see the doctor."

Talking exclusively to OK!, Shannon insisted that "what you see on the show is what happens on the show" with the cast not even able to say goodbye to Amber.

She said: "No, Amber, the minute she quit – that was it, she was gone! I never got to say goodbye to her, which was gutting.

"I didn't get to speak to her until the show was finished and I got my phone back. Straightaway I spoke to her but yeah never got to say goodbye to her!"

Talking about how the exits are filmed, Shannon added: "Literally, what you see on the show is what happens on the show, there's no 'when the cameras are finished we all get given a bacon sandwich', there's none of that – it's so strict and so brutal!"

Yet Amber wasn't the only star to leave on Sunday's show as Pete Wicks was medically withdrawn after knocking himself unconscious during a challenge.

Talking about his exit, Shannon admitted she was "in bits" seeing the TOWIE star, 33, knocked out and had an emotional unaired goodbye with him.

Shannon said: "So going into the show, we quarantined and whatever else, and in the show you don't really see it as much, but I was so so close to Pete. He even said I was the closest one to him there.

"But what you don't realise, I was on the helicopter looking down at his body facing face down. I was in bits. And I was like: 'What's wrong with Pete? What's happened?' and he was just face down.

"Then I had to do the task afterwards. And that, you know, that freaked me out obviously. And then my partner was Amber but again, I was so close to her, and she quit during the task. So it wasn't a very good day for me, to be honest."

Shannon added that she and Pete had even made a pact on the show, she added: "He was devastated to leave and he came back to say goodbye, you don't see that on the show.

"And he was like: 'Shannon, I'm so sorry to have to leave.' And I was like: 'No, you've got to go to hospital. You've got to get yourself checked out.' And obviously turns out that he did break his ribs.

"It was so hard to say goodbye to him. It was so emotional. And you don't see it on the show, unfortunately, but there were a lot of tears."
