Celebs Go Dating’s Paul Brunson teases a ‘shake-up’ for brand new season

Relationship expert Paul Brunson is preparing to return to Celebs Go Dating once again this summer as he welcomes stars such as Adam Collard, Vanessa Feltz and Lottie Moss to the A-list agency.

While he's a regular fixture on the E4 show, the love guru teased during an exclusive chat that this time, things could be slightly different as things are set to be 'shaken up'.

Sharing that the celebs are in for a treat, Paul explained, "We're about to start filming and I can already see that this may be unlike any other Celebs Go Dating we’ve done. I’ve been on the show since series four [this year will be series 12] and it’s become an institution where we haven’t really deviated much from the standard format.

"But this year the idea is to shake things up a bit and do things differently so I’m excited."

From Adam's Love Island escapades to Vanessa's bubbly TV persona, fans wouldn't guess that the celebrity contestants would be feeling the nerves. But according to Paul, who also appears on reality show Married At First Sight, the A-listers feel the heat the most.

"Not a lot of people would guess this, but the celebrities on Celebs Go Dating often seem more nervous than those on Married At First Sight. The celebrities are known in the public eye already and they’re trying to not show certain aspects of their life. They feel like vulnerability is the last thing they want to show. They are very nervous, and I don’t think people realise that, whereas on MAFS, no one is known and they usually haven’t done reality TV before, says the US native.

Saying that, Paul does manage to make progress when attempting to get the celebs to share their feelings. He explains, "The stakes are also lower on Celebs Go Dating because they’re not getting married, only dating. This means that we can get the stars to open up their hearts more and be honest, because it’s only dating."

Vanessa Feltz has joined the new series for her first romantic endeavour in 17 years, just months after calling time on her relationship with ex-partner Ben Odoedu – who she split from after finding out that he was unfaithful.

While it could be that third time's a charm for Adam Collard, who returned to Love Island last year after failing to find love during his initial stint in 2018. While he left the villa alongside Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne the second time around, their romance was short-lived.

The line-up is looking set for some good television and hopefully lasting matches, but who would Paul's dream celebrity be for the show? "I would love for Kim Kardashian to come on. I’ve seen her listing all the things she wants in a husband and think she would be so perfect for us to get a hold of. We need to set her up."
