Charity and Mack jailed on their Emmerdale wedding day

Charity (Emma Atkins) and Mack’s (Lawrence Robb) Emmerdale wedding has been beset with bad luck from day one and now that the actual day has rolled around, it would seem they walked over three drains, saw a single magpie and walked under a ladder all at once.

The first run of bad luck comes when Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Charity start bickering. Moira shows Charity some old photos and she spots a reference to the A-Team, which gives her an idea for a gift for her hubby to be. But as their bickering escalates, Charity gives Moira a good hard shove into a haystack. This act causes Moira to lose the rings, which a suspicious Charity doesn’t believe and accuses Moira of sabotaging the wedding.

The next day, Moira hands the rings to Charity and all is forgiven, but the wheels are set in motion for their next run of bad luck when Charity gets Mack an A-Team replica van.

Mack is so turned on by the gift (I mean, who wouldn’t be?!) that when the pair later take it for a spin while in fancy dress, the kinky couple pull up on a country road and start getting down to it. But before they can finish, they are rudely interrupted by PC Swirling, who reveals they are doing it in a vehicle involved in a robbery.

Not an ideal situation at all, especially when they are arrested. They get to spend the night before their wedding in the cells and a furious Charity begins to believe Moira has set them up.

And while all that is going on another little bit of bad luck is swirling in the background – Chloe goes into labour.

The arrest is an enormous set back and there is now a big question mark over whether the wedding can go ahead. Charity tries to clear their names with PC Swirling (how very A-Team of her) but her pleas fall on deaf ears.

He continues to hold them in the cells and when they are finally released, they are gutted to learn it’s too late to get married, and a desperate Mackenzie begs Cain to stall Charles. But just as all hope is lost, PC Swirling comes zipping into view in the A-Team van and they floor it to the church where Charles is ready to marry them.

But before the deed is done, Mack gets the news of Chloe in labour and disappears. He bumps into Nate who tells him to get a move on. Poor Charity is left fearing the worst and quite rightly so. Will Mack ditch his own wedding for the birth of his baby?
