Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon reveals baby son’s name and meaning behind it
Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has revealed the name of her and partner Ryan Ledson’s baby son and the sweet meaning behind it.
The actress, known for her role as Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, gave birth to her first child at the end of January.
‘Our beautiful boy,’ Lucy captioned the sweet social media post that announced the news, along with the date January 30.
The black and white picture showed the new parents cradling their son as they sit on the sofa, with Lucy positively glowing.
Now, the actress has been speaking about her and Ryan choosing a name for their child, admitting it was one of the few titles the couple could actually agree on.
They revealed their baby’s name is Sonny Jude.
‘I kept adding names to a list. I liked a lot of names that Ryan didn’t. Some were a bit out there, like “Fox”’, she told OK! Magazine.
‘When Sonny was finally born, we were both sobbing – but happy tears!’.
Footballer Ryan added that there was ‘no chance’ his son was going to have a ‘quirky’ name and revealed as the pregnancy journey progressed, the couple kept ‘calling him Sonny’.
So sweet!
When announcing that she had a bun in the oven last year, Lucy, who was 19 weeks pregnant at the time, said: ‘We’ve been keeping it a secret. I’m scared but excited.’
Lucy also bravely revealed that she had a miscarriage in March 2022, finding out the devastating news when the couple went for an early seven-week scan.
Describing it as ‘traumatising and horrendous,’ Lucy added to OK! at the time: ‘I had pregnancy symptoms and I was feeling really unwell and when they were doing all these scans my symptoms were getting worse and worse and there were no signs I had had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock.’
The couple added that they were surprised to fall pregnant so soon after the miscarriage and that it was clearly ‘meant to happen’.
