Coronation Street's Millie Gibson explains eyebrow mark
Millie Gibson’s final scenes are set to air this week in Coronation Street, and what a journey it’s been for Kelly Neelan.
Arriving in 2019, Kelly initially made her way to Weatherfield looking for her dad, Rick Neelan (Greg Wood), who had been murdered by Gary Windass (Mikey North).
During her time on the cobbles, Kelly has been at the centre of many dramatic storylines that have got everybody talking, but one thing that still is topic of conversation is the mark in Millie’s eyebrow!
What happened to Millie Gibson’s eyebrow?
Back in September last year, the actress appeared on an episode of Lorraine, where host Lorraine Kelly brought it up.
‘It’s a scar!’, Millie said.
‘Everyone thinks I did it myself. I did when I was young and in all my baby pictures I look like a right thug.
‘I fell down the stairs as a baby and the hair’s just never grown back, but everyone thinks I’ve done it myself.’
A few months later, the actress spoke to Metro.co.uk about the scar again, saying:
‘My dad gets annoyed with online comments like that! When I was 2 or 3, I have pictures looking like a thug. I whacked my head off a corner on the banister and my head just went massive. It never really healed, I kind of like it. It works with the character!’
Addressing the facial feature and the fact her eyebrow wasn’t deliberately styled that was for her character perhaps won’t last much longer for Millie, as the actress will say goodbye to Kelly Neelan this week.
Last night, Kelly began her plan to get revenge on Gary after finally discovering he killed her dad.
The storyline takes a huge turn on the top of an old mill, which will see Keiron reveal his plan to kill Gary and then Kelly – murder-suicide.
‘She’s been a bit naïve and underestimated the types of people her dad dealt with,’ Millie recently said as she discussed the terrifying moment where the evil gangster confirms the twist to the plot. ‘It bites back at her.’
’I think she’s utterly rock bottom. There’s only so many times she can hit rock bottom before it finally gets to her, from being in prison, being kidnapped and then this. I think it’s really got to her now. I think she’s just accepted her fate.’
She also said that the way the scenes play out will keep viewers on the edge of their seats as the storyline reaches its peak.
‘Every single time I was reading the scripts I was thinking “Oh gosh!”’ she reveals.
‘Even though we all knew this was going to eventually come of age, it happened in a way you wouldn’t expect.’
