BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay was missing in action on Monday, August 8, 2022.
Jon has become a fairly new permanent fixture alongside Sally Nugent on the Breakfast show since Dan Walker left for 5 News in May 2022.
Where is Jon Kay and why is he not on BBC Breakfast today?
Fans expecting to see Jon on the red sofa this morning (August 08, 2022) were left disappointed.
His absence seems to have slipped under the radar with neither Sally nor Ben addressing why he has not been present.
However, it's the holiday season which could be the reason why.
Jon is an active member on Twitter and has also not updated his feed in a few days, with his disappearance still being a mystery to many.
The 52-year-old was missing from his spot just weeks ago after he revealed that he was suffering from Covid.
Sharing a snap of his positive Covid test on Twitter, he added the caption: "Aaaagh! Finally got me [germ emoji].

Jon was flooded with comments including from his predecessor Dan who said: "Oh no Jon! Hope you feel ok."

Who is his replacement?
When the programme began, Sally was seen sitting alongside Ben Thompson.
Despite officially quitting the Breakfast show earlier this year, Ben found himself back on the iconic red sofa to fill in for the missing presenters.
In January, the journalist posted that he will be hanging up his 'hard hat' after joining back in 2011.
He said he'd be moving back to the global channel BBC World as he also thanked those who let them do stories on them.
He also joked that now he'd be able to avoid the cold and rain but will be keeping the BBC Breakfast sofa warm on some occasions
When is he back on BBC Breakfast?
It is not known when Jon will return.
As soon as we have an update, we will let you know.
The broadcaster joined the BBC back in 1992 and has worked his way up the ranks.
On July 8, 2022, Jon said of his appointment to the full time BBC Breakfast co-anchor role: “I’m over the moon to become the new regular presenter of BBC Breakfast and I’m looking forward to bringing our brilliant viewers the very latest news each morning alongside my good friend Sally and the rest of the team.
