Corrie Amy ‘set for age-gap romance’ with Jacob’s dad as fans twig affair twist

Coronation Street’s Amy Barlow could be set for a stressful age-gap romance with her boyfriend’s dad in what would be a huge twist.

Amy has been happily loved up with beau Jacob Hay since he turned his life around and stopped dealing drugs, and the pair fought against the Barlow family in a bid to be together.

But with Jacob picking up drug orders for his dad Damon, Amy was left in trouble when Damon began threatening his son – and his girlfriend’s safety.

Fans, however, think Damon could have something else up his sleeve, and won’t hurt Amy outright.

He could instead seduce her – with Amy taking a leaf out of mum Tracy’s book and launching into a steamy affair with an older man.

Taking to Reddit with their thoughts, one fan of the ITV soap penned: “These are my predictions.

“Amy and Jacobs dad will have a thing. It’s the kind of thing Tracy would have done in her younger days. She did think he was cool from the first time he met her.

“Jacob and Summer will share a moment. They will both have a good reasons to run away together after the escalation of their situations.”

Another fan begged: “Ugh if Amy and Jacob’s dad have a thing I will lose all respect for Amy!”

Someone else responded: “Amy and Damon? Damon looks to be trying to manipulate Jacob using Amy. In reality, Amy isn’t stupid, scriptwriters tend to forget those sort of things though.”

As another fan said: “I absolutely think Amy and Damon having a thing isn’t a bad shout and something I can see happening!”

“They’ve spoiled that Damon will go with someone else!” someone else posted.

It comes as soap boss Iain MacLeod has confirmed that Damon is set for a steamy affair on the cobbles with a “notable female character”.

He told Daily Star: “As the year goes on, there's something about a bad boy I think it's fair to say, and he's got this attraction for a notable female character in the show who's going to have her head turned in a way that has consequences.

“I'm currently working on storylines for June and there's a built up and an explosion in the storyline involving Damon and this love story.”
