Corrie fans condemn Daisy for going ‘too far’ as she continues to pose as Crystal

Coronation Street fans have expressed their disgust at Daisy Midgley’s actions as she continues to pose as DJ Crystal in the wake of Ryan Connor’s acid attack.

Ryan has been seen struggling to cope in recent weeks following his life changing injuries after being subjected to an acid attack from Justin.

Prior to the attack, the talented DJ had been hoping to start a new life in Ibiza and even struck up a good rapport with club promoter Crystal, however after realising the extent of his injuries and the recovery time required, Crystal soon ditched Ryan and returned to Ibiza without him.

In an attempt to keep Ryan’s spirits up, Daisy failed to pass on this bit of information to her still struggling friend, and instead made the decision to pose as Crystal online to continue their conversations and help him through his darkest days.

As the conversations grew longer and longer, Ryan began to rely more and more on ‘Crystal’ for support, leading fans at home to urge Daisy to come clean before the damage was irreparable.

"Come on Ryan these messages are far too quick for someone supposedly in Spain,” wrote one fan on social media. They then continued: "Come on Daisy just tell Ryan before it goes too far.”

Another fan agreed, adding: One day, Ryan is going to want to meet Crystal in person or double date with Daniel and Daisy. Can’t be in two places at once.”

Meanwhile a third viewer pointed out one obvious plot hole as they commented: "Unless it goes straight to voicemail, Ryan should be able to see that it's not an international dialling tone when he calls “Crystal”.

On Wednesday’s episode, fans were even convinced the game was up, when Daisy accidentally let slip that she knew about his plans to head to Ibiza to see Crystal.

Questioning how she knew about it, Daisy promptly lied to Ryan’s face and pretended she had been snooping on his laptop.

Thankfully, Ryan appeared to believe her lie and continued to pour his heart out to the fictional girl of his dreams online.

Clearly building up an emotional rapport together, fans at home couldn’t get their heads around why Daisy had opted for such a cruel support measure in the first place.

"Don't understand why Daisy went down this route, pretending to be Crystal. I would've just told Ryan the truth. He would've gotten over Crystal by now, and would probably be focusing on getting better,” commented one disgruntled fan.

“It’s the betrayal that gets me. Any hope they have of being friends after this is long gone,” added another.
