Corrie’s Kelly Neelan star Millie Gibson ‘quits’ role as final scenes due to air
Coronation Street star Millie Gibson – best known for playing Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap – has quit the role.
In a move that will leave fans across the country devastated, The Sun reports that Millie's final scenes will come in the autumn as she makes an "explosive" exit.
It comes after a bumper year for her character Kelly, after she was released from prison following the death of Seb Franklin and being stitched up by villain Corey Brent.

She became homeless after her release, befriending Stu Carpenter and sleeping rough on park benches and in doorways.
Kelly was then forced to deal with the death of her mum to cancer, and finding out her dad Rick was dead – with her mum Laura confessing to killing him to cover for Gary Windass.
As though that wasn't enough to deal with, then came the death of Kelly's foster parent Imran Habeeb, after which she was kidnapped and held hostage for her dad's money in a squalid basement.
It makes sense, then, after covering so many bases with her character, that Millie could move on to even bigger projects.
Speaking to The Sun, a Coronation Street source said: "Millie's a huge talent. She has loved her time on the soap but there’s a lot of excitement about what she’s going to do next.
“Everyone has been sworn to secrecy over her exit storyline. It’s going to be explosive.
"Millie’s not even telling people if the door has been left open for her," they added.

The move has left fans devastated, with plenty turning to Reddit to vent their frustrations.
One penned: "That’s really sad to see. Only being in it for 3 years, her character had so much potential to develop even more, but she’s still a great actress, her scene when Laura died reduced me to tears."
"Aww this is too bad. I liked this actress and her character in the show. Will definitely miss her!" someone else said.
A third social media user then said: "What are the writers going to do now? They use Kelly in about a third of storylines with Abi and Summer making up the other two of course!"
