Good Morning Britain saw a clash between two hosts as Ed Balls and Richard Arnold confessed to "tension" between the pair.

On Tuesday's show (July 19), GMB's Entertainment Editor Richard was welcomed onto the show to chat about the latest Love Island drama.

However, Richard found it difficult to get his points across with hosts Ed and Ranvir Singh talking over him.

Richard piped up a few times and pointed out that they would understand what was going on if he was "able to get his words out".

He then quipped that it should be less about the "tension" in the GMB studio and suggested "cracking on" to the tension in the ITV2 villa instead.

After the cheeky dig, Richard then branded Ed a "lovely man" after thinking he may have pushed his luck with the ITV host.

This comes after Ed freaked out some viewers after he offered Ranvir a piece of his banana.

The ITV co-stars were discussing how to keep cool in the current heatwave and Ranvir suggested trying to eat a banana in order to have a better night's sleep.

Ed then grabbed a banana and broke it in half with his bare hands – and he offered Ranvir a piece of the fruit that he had touched with his mitts.

ITV viewers took to social media to discuss the banana revelation.

One fan shared: "#GMB oh my god did I just see Eddie break off half a banana with his bare hand and offer ranvir that bit Jesus christ offer her the piece left in the skin"

While a third posted: "Oh dear god let’s wheel Dr Hilary out for his pearls of wisdom, fill a hot water bottle with cold water & drink plenty, well I’d never have thought of that and now Ranvir eat Bananas, ffs, come on GMB this is a joke"

"@GMB Bananas DO help you drop off at night!! They are a cure and answer for many things and cannot be dismissed!!" wrote a fourth.
