Dancing On Ice countdown begins as new snaps of hosts and judges are unveiled

Dancing On Ice fans can get excited because the brand new official photos of the judges and presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have been revealed by ITV ahead of the 2023 series.

The brand new series, which returns this month, will fend off the January blues as a whole new cast of celebrities take to the ice to compete for the trophy by trying to impress ice skating royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean with their new skills.

Jayne, 65, and Chris, 64, won Olympic gold when they competed in the winter games in Sarajevo in 1984.

The iconic pair are returning to the show for the fifth year running, having played a part since Dancing on Ice returned in 2018.

They are joined on the panel by Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo and former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti Mabuse, who won the BBC dance show twice with celebrity partners Bill Bailey and Kelvin Fletcher.

Oti, 32, whose sister Motsi is a judge on Strictly, replaced actor John Barrowman on the DOI panel in 2022.

This year's star-studded cast includes EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu and former footballer John Fashanu.

The Only Way Is Essex favourite Joey Essex, soap actress Carley Stenson, Olympic bronze medal-winning gymnast Nile Wilson and Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher will also be taking to the ice.

Fans will also be excited to see RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne cracking out some epic dance routines, along with former Liberty X pop group member Michelle Heaton and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran.

This Morning duo Phillip and Holly are gearing up to host the show once more, and the latter has already debuted the first of her sparkly ballgowns with the latest press shots.

Well-known for her dramatic princess outfits and snow queen-esque gowns every Sunday night on the show, Holly is proving this year will be no different as she posed next to Phil in a floor-length silver shimmer dress.

The Bardot-style neckline and sweeping fabric design highlighted the mum-of-two's curves perfectly, cinching in at the waist and creating a cascade waterfall effect.

The gown also featured a daring thigh-high split, and she teamed her look with a pair of matching silver stiletto sandals for the shoot.

With her blonde locks loose in a casual style, Holly was all smiles in the snap as she gears up for the launch show.

Phil, meanwhile, looked dapper in a double-breasted cream jacket, black polo neck jumper and smart trousers.

Torvill and Dean showcased their close friendship in the shoot, as the latter wrapped his arm around his longtime skating partner's waist, while Jayne looked elegant in a beautifully-intricate silver and blue embellished gown.

Oti opted to go without the sparkles, as she posed next to her fellow judges in an off-the-shoulder pink silk gown for the occasion.

Wearing her hair in a stunning plait that trailed down her back, the South African-German dancer joined Ashley for the shots.

This year's winner will follow in the footsteps of Jake Quickenden, James Jordan, Joe Swash and last year’s winner Regan Gascoigne to lift the trophy.

Dancing On Ice returns this January on ITV1 and ITVX.
