Dancing on Ice’s The Vivienne admits ITV show is harder than RuPauls Drag Race

Dancing on Ice star The Vivienne has admitted that performing on the hugely popular ITV skating show is more nerve-wracking than competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The 30-year-old Drag Queen – whose real name is James Lee Williams – was crowned the winner of the very first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK back in 2019.

She later returned to the show for an All Stars series last year but was booted out half way through the series.

Now, in an interview with Daily Star and other publications, the blonde bombshell admitted that “standing on ice is hard enough” when she shared the pressures she faces on the celebrity skating competition.

When asked about which of her two shows was nerve-wrecking, the TV star confessed: “Dancing on Ice! We’re used to being on a stage made out of wood, not frozen water! Standing on ice is bad enough, let alone dancing on it as well!

Vivienne went on to explain the pressures she is faces on the skating programme despite putting in the hours of work training in the rink.

She went on: “I mean, you get your show one skate in your head and you work on it so hard, and then you kind of forget, ‘Oh my gosh, by week two we’ve got five days to learn a whole new routine!’

“So the pressure of that, you know, the nation’s watching. And we’ve got to do it all in front of Torvill and Dean the absolute legends in the skating world! It’s a lot of pressure so I just want to take it week by week.”

It comes after the drag queen confessed that she has “fallen in love” with the sport as she gushed over her professional skating partner Colin Grafton.

The starlet continued: “I’ve become obsessed with skating. You know, my husband wants to sit and watch the Hollyoaks omnibus and I want to sit and watch the world champion skating!

“I’m even putting my slippy socks on and gliding around the kitchen on the wooden floor!"

The Vivienne added: "I just fell in love with skating and have so much respect for the pros and what they do.

"And you know, I'm sure we’re all gonna say our pros are the best, but Colin is just fantastic. We’ve both formed such a good bond.”
