Danny Dyers first TV project since EastEnders exit gets release date

Fans were shocked when soap legend Danny Dyer said he'd be leaving EastEnders after nine years on the show.

Fans have since wondered what the 45 year old actor's next project will be, and he just announced a show he's been working on with Netflix.

Danny posted a photo on Instagram of him and fellow actor Ellie Taylor standing with their backs against each other with the logo for the new gameshow, Cheat, showing above them.

Danny captioned the post: "A blinding little gig I did with @elliejanetaylor starts on the 1st March on @netflixuk she’s a proper treacle and i think you’re all gonna love it…..

"It’s a game show full of slippery f*****s trying to cheat their way to some serious readies…..beautiful."

However, fans had mixed responses to the announcement, as they were disappointed that he wouldn't do another acting job.

One person said: "Looking forward to this gem!"

A second follower penned: "Really excited for this one. Can’t wait to watch you do what you do best."

However, a lot of the commenters said they wanted Danny back in the hit BBC soap.

"Please don’t lower your self to game shows Danny. You’re better than that," one person said.

A second follower agreed and said: "Eastenders isn’t the same without u smh" as someone else added: "Get back to the Vic".

Danny announced he was leaving EastEnders in January 2022, when he signed a contract for a new drama series with Sky in a six-figure deal.

A spokesperson for the soap announced Danny's departure at the time of him signing the contract as they said: "Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year.

"Danny has made Mick Carter an iconic character which we shall always be grateful for.

"However we won’t be saying goodbye just yet as there’s still quite some time – and plenty of explosive drama for Mick – to come before he departs Walford."

Danny's daughter Dani just announced her second pregnancy where she's expecting identical twins.

She shared the hilarious WhatsApp conversation where she told her dad the happy news.

Dani sent him a picture of the sonogram showing it's twins as she wrote: "We are having twins," with a crying laughing and love heart emoji.

Her father replied: "Hold up. Are you f***ing joking me????" as Dani replied: "Dad I can't believe it.

"They missed it on the scan. And now it's come up identical twins."

A clearly shocked Danny then said: "WTF. Oh my f***ing god," before Dani said: "Helppppp."

This will be Danny's second and third grandchildren, as Dani already has a son called Santiago, who is two.

Danny's new show Cheat starts on Netflix on 1 March.
