Devil in Ohio season two is on everyone’s minds following the success of the Netflix thriller. The series follows a hospital psychiatrist who rescues a young girl from a cult and there is a disturbing end to the show. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about whether there will be another season.

Will there be a season 2 of Devil in Ohio?

The first eight-episode season arrived on September 2 and within days it had reached the top of the Netflix charts.

The thriller stars Emily Deschanel as mother-of-three Suzanne, who is thrust into the world of satanic cults.

Mae’s (Madeleine Arthur) journey was first told in the book of the same name by Daria Polatin.

She served as the showrunner for the small screen adaptation, which saw Suzanne’s husband and children reach the end of their tether with her.

Then, after rescuing Mae from the cult, Suzanne learns of a disturbing truth about the girl she thought she was saving.

Sadly it is unlikely the series will be renewed as it had been billed as a limited series from the outset.

Daria explained why she chose to end the series without showing how Suzanne responded to what she had discovered.

She told TV Insider: “We leave them in that moment because that’s a huge moment and there are different ways it can go.

“That’s what’s fun about it, too, as a conversation piece. I like to write stories that people can engage with and talk about and discuss, and so it’s a good question and it’s something fun for the audience to engage with as well in conversation, like watercooler.

“What would she do? What would you do? I like stories that encourage some interaction as a viewer as well, and I think this gives us that to stimulate conversations with people.”

She confirmed she had written the show as a limited series, saying a beginning, middle and end had been planned.

However, she did admit there were some unanswered questions at the end.

“It’s interesting to think where it might go but, for now, it is just an all-in limited [series],” she said.

There is no doubt fans were left with many questions at the end, as it was left open to interpretation.

Sadly it seems the answers to what happened next will not be revealed any time soon.

However, viewers can turn to the original source material to discover more about the complex relationship.

The book was first published in 2017 and it has been described as the ultimate page-turner.
