Double Corrie exit shock as Jenny and Leo prepare to leave in marriage twist?
Jenny Connor’s (Sally Ann Matthews) day in Coronation Street was a rollercoaster of emotions and now – she’s engaged to Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost)!
Jenny put on a brave face in the opening scenes of tonight’s episode, telling Rita (Barbara Knox) that she enjoyed her relationship with Leo, but as he’s off to Canada, she’ll get over him soon enough.
Grabbing a bottle of booze, Jenny drowned her sorrows as desperate-for-cash Stephen (Todd Boyce) watched on, who had just discovered she was the sole owner of the pub.
Meanwhile, in the bistro, Rita and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) had staged an intervention with Leo.
Jenny’s friends were certain that she still loved Leo and encouraged the engineer to focus on their future together and do something that allows Jenny to see he’s serious about their relationship.
So, he decided to propose.
While Leo was out buying a ring, Jenny and Stephen were flirting in the back room of the pub.
And when we say flirting, oh boy, do we mean it.
As they really enjoyed each other’s company, Gemma was making her way through the pub to find Jenny, ahead of the big moment with Leo.
Opening the door, Gemma was stunned to find Jenny and Stephen playing tonsil tennis and quickly returned, distracting Leo so he didn’t find out!
Eventually, Leo proposed, and Jenny said yes, of course!
Jenny had to try and forget about Stephen as she prepared for her future in Canada with Leo, but things were very awkward.
In the bistro, Stephen was in the background of Jenny, Leo, Rita and Gemma’s celebration drinks and that evening, he even offered to help the couple when they move to Toronto.
