EastEnders drops huge hint Phil Mitchell is set to die next week in new spoilers

EastEnders has just dropped a major hint that Phil Mitchell might be killed off on the BBC One soap.

The long-running character is suggested to meet a nasty end in previews for upcoming episodes which follow him in prison.

Phil is currently serving time behind bars after police discovered he was involved in Vincent Hubbard's death.

In scenes of him in prison, the character is still refusing to become a police informant and has made an enemy out of another prisoner named Craig.

Desperate to know how his family are doing at home, Phil enlists an inmate called Ravi to help him find a burner phone so he can communicate with them.

He is able to get his hands on one and calls Kat Slater — only for the line to be cut off as he ends up in a bloody fight with Craig.

After prison guards stop the brawl, Phil is warned by DI Keeble that he won’t survive in prison much longer and gives him 48 hours to rethink his decision about becoming an informant.

Just like the DI predicted, Phil’s life hangs in the balance, as the following day, Craig warns that he will die tomorrow.

Phil offers Ravi money to help him before Craig finds him again and lets him know that he is running out of time as his fellow inmates show up.

Could this really be the end of Phil on EastEnders?

Judging by recent photos snapped of actor Steve McFadden on location in East London, perhaps not yet.

The 63 year old was seen filming new scenes as he made his highly-anticipated return to EastEnders and his character Phil appears to have managed to secure an early release.

Phil learns the harrowing truth that his son Ben Mitchell (played by Max Bowden) was raped by Lewis Butler (Aidan O'Callaghan) and looks to go on a vengeful outing in pursuit of the attacker.

EastEnders continues weekdays on BBC One.
