EastEnders fans predict new romance for troubled Ben as old friend returns

EastEnders fans are predicting a new love interest storyline for bad boy Ben Mitchell after a hunky former school friend makes an appearance at his shop.

Viewers saw Ben arguing with his mum Kathy after she called the police to report his rape despite him begging her not to.

As the pair exchange heated words and Kathy begged him to seek professional mental help, the pair were interrupted by a redheaded hunk with a thick beard who shot a long stare at Ben as he asked for some help with his car.

After initially asking him to wait outside, Ben goes over to talk to the mystery newcomer, who introduces himself as James, his former school friend.

James confesses that he had a huge crush on Ben in school and asks him if he’s single and wants to go for a coffee.

Ben initially says he is single but retracts the statement feeling uncomfortable with the questioning.

Fans are now convinced James is just the medicne Ben needs to overcome his latest struggle.

“Who wouldn't have a crush on Ben Mitchell? Go out with James!” said one viewer.

Another predicted: “Oh wow hello ! Who’s this # EastEnders new love interest for ben?”

While a third said: “The guy with the broken down car will cure Ben #EastEnders.”

Meanwhile, Kathy makes a worrying discovery after learning that Peter has emptied the business accounts.

As tension continue to mount between Ben and Rocky, Rocky snaps at Ben and gives him some home truths.

The situation gets out of hand and as Ben goes to punch Rocky, Kathy jumps in to protect Rocky and Ben accidentally punches her instead.

Elsewhere in the episode, Mitch leads Avery to the laundrette where he is surprised with a Caribbean themed party.

With the party in full swing and Tara at the helm, the brothers reminisce and Avery thanks Mitch for what he’s done.

As Mitch talks to him, Avery passes away.

After a warning from Ash, Suki invites a surprised Stacey to dinner.

Thinking it’s a ruse, Stacey brings her kids but feels guilty when she realises Suki has made an effort.

Kheerat soon arrives and is grateful that Suki is really trying to have a relationship with her.
