EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Emma’s sinister plan to manipulate daughter Lola
EastEnders viewers have taken to social media to share their theories that Albert Square newcomer Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) may have ulterior motives as she continues to get close to daughter Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).
As Lola and her husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) cope with her terminal cancer diagnosis, Emma appears to have been doing her best to make things even more difficult for the pair.
Having come back into her daughter's life after years apart, Emma has taken it upon herself to convince Lola that she can't trust Jay.
Posting to Twitter, fans have been sharing their thoughts on Emma, with one writing: "What sort of mother would wreck her dying daughters relationship with her last boyfriend? A dirty horrible one.. Emma is sick #EastEnders."
"@bbceastenders I feel Emma is doing all this deliberately just to get Lola all to herself. Maybe she wants to be the only person that Lola depends on. #eastenders" theorised one viewer.
And another added: "Don't believe any of Emma's sob story? I think she's the one who abuses people not the other way around #EastEnders."
A fourth argued: "@bbceastenders Emma hasn’t changed. I think that she just said what Lola wanted to hear, but I think she’s secretly plotting her next move.#eastenders"
Other viewers have suggested that Emma's ulterior motive may involve Lola's daughter, and her granddaughter Lexi, after a recent episode saw her plant a secret message in Lexi's locket when her mum's back was turned.
"The way Emma whispered in Lexi's ear just then was very suspicious. I think Emma will kidnap Lexi at some point" wrote one fan, while a second argued: "Emma is defo gonna kidnap Lexi to get her away from the Mitchells #EastEnders."
It comes after Patsy announced via Instagram that she's completed her guest stint on the BBC soap.
Next to a selection of excited airport photos, the 54 year old penned: "We're leaving on a jet plane! Don't know when I’ll be back again… Going to the heat.
"Great news this Friday that my severe chest infection I've nursed since December has now been diagnosed and I'm on the right antibiotics and need to convalesce for a bit and will be right back on my feet!!!
"Cannot thank my amazing cast members at the simply awesome experience I've had working on @bbceastenders for being so kind and loving to me.
"Big thank you to the BBC the producers writers crew and the EE family. Costume makeup AD's Ang at the help desk.. Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my arse off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton.. so so many people…. A new adventure begins."
