The EastEnders locals finally found out the truth about Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) fate on Wednesday after The Queen Vic was uncharacteristically closed following the tragic Christmas Day accident. Mick was reunited his ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in a touching scene before the landlady’s future was cruelly snatched from her as it’s been confirmed Linda “won’t get over” the incident “any time soon”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Linda star Kellie reflected on her character’s future in Walford.

EastEnders star Kellie said: “Let’s just say Linda doesn’t get over this anytime soon.

“She’s not going to, is she? He’s the love of her life.

“I’m only up to Feb but we’ve just filmed some Valentine’s Day stuff and there’s a little picture of Mick up behind the bar and I wish him a Happy Valentine’s Day and blow him a kiss.”

“He’s still very present for her in that way,” the BBC soap star continued.

“I do know a little bit about what’s in store for Linda but I can’t tell anyone.

“I’ve only just found out myself which I’m excited about it which is really good because there was definitely a moment after Danny went on I just thought, ‘Oh God it’s so weird one half of something almost.’”

The actress reflected on whether EastEnders viewers will get to see Linda get her “spark back”.

“Linda is a tough cookie I’ve always said she’s Barbie with a core of steel,” Kellie remarked.

“She’ll definitely find her way through this and also she’s mother to Ollie and Annie and I think that will drive her forwards.

“But I’m quite excited about about what is going to happen next year.

“I actually know very little, but I know I’m part of something that’s going to be quite big and I’m quite excited about that.”

In recent scenes, Linda left Walford to tell her children about the tragic accident.

Shirley and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) stayed behind to support one another and look after Ollie and Annie.

With the Walford residents finding out the truth, Scarlett Butcher (Tabitha Byron) was the target of Shirley Carter’s (Linda Henry) rage.

However, on Thursday, as the events of Christmas Day still haunting those in the Square, Shirley realises she’s made a mistake.

Shirley heads across the Square to make things right with the youngster.

The Carters found out the truth about Tina Carter’s (Luisa Bradshaw-White) horrific murder earlier this year.

Shirley declared earlier in the week that the Carters needed to accepted Mick wasn’t coming home after spending months trying to find Tina in a hopeless search.

EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.
