EastEnders Roxy return sealed as fans predict epic return from the dead twist

EastEnders fans seriously reckon one iconic character could return from the dead in a shock twist.

As viewers of the long-running soap will know, Albert Square hunk Jack Branning has faced heartache in recent months following his daughter’s mental health struggle.

Amy Mitchell’s mental state has spiralled recently after she discovered that her dad’s girlfriend Denise Fox had a fling with Ravi Gulati.

She then confided in her copper dad and told him that she missed her mum, Roxy Mitchell, and similarly told half-brother Ricky she wished her mum was still alive.

The nation was left devastated back in 2017 when show bosses axed Roxy, played by Rita Simons and sister Ronnie, played by Samantha Womack and killed them off in a tragic ending.

In one of the long-running soap’s most controversial episodes ever, the sisters met their untimely deaths by drowning together on Ronnie’s wedding day.

And because Roxy’s name has been dropped a lot of times on the show since then, fans reckon she will make a return – but in a shock flashback twist.

“Roxy could return to Eastenders in some capacity soon I don’t know anything but it seems to be where the storyline is heading. It may just be a flashback though", one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another echoed: "I’ll be honest I'm the biggest believer in Roxy coming back cause they’ve mentioned her more in the past 4/5 months than they have in her 6 years of not being alive."

Some others also believed Roxy might not have died in the swimming pool.

"Fans want Roxy back Amy now mentions Roxy could they be bringing her back with a surprise 'I’m alive' twists", a third added.

"Bring Back Roxy & Ronnie Mitchell", one viewer demanded.

It comes after Rita, who played Roxy on the show for 10 years, revealed fans send her scripts which detail lots of ways her character could return from the dead.

Rita told the Radio Times : “To this day, I will get – whether it’s tweets, whether it’s someone in the street, whether it’s someone on Instagram, whether it’s a parent of a school – not that I go to school anymore: ‘Why did they kill you? Why did they kill you? I stopped watching. Come back, come back.'”

“I get it every day. I get scripts sent to me of ideas of how to come back from fans.”

Rita went on: “Fans send me scripts that they’ve written. It has not stopped in six years.”

Those scripts appear to be good enough as Rita even admitted she’s convinced by the stories.

“If you see some of the scripts I’ve seen, I mean, who knows? The whole cliché of ‘never say never’, I don’t know,” she said, when asked if she would return to the BBC soap.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
