EastEnders star reveals first ever crying scene in emotional Freddie story
Bobby Brazier has discussed Freddie Slater’s upcoming EastEnders storyline, confirming that it’s an emotional one.
Freddie, as viewers know, rocked up in the Square last year, and has since become a mainstay of the show, with his loveable wit and quick-thinking schemes making him a fan-favourite.
The character, however, will embark on a storyline of a different nature this week, which comes about after he goes on two dates at once.
The teen finds himself double booked with two dates for the same evening as he panics whether he can pull it off.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) convinces him to go but his other family members aren’t convinced. Later at The Vic, Jean (Gillian Wright), Stacey and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) arrive to watch as Freddie attempts to navigate both dates, but he subsequently gets them muddled up.
Jean later has a go at Freddie, making a hurtful remark over his intelligence, which seemingly kickstarts his desire to confront a former teacher of his, who humiliated him at school.
‘It’s not been on screen yet, but it was my first ever crying scene,’ Bobby told Inside Soap, making reference to one scene in particular, set to air this week.
‘It was a great experience.’
‘I was filming with Freddie’s Nanny Jean and we were sat on the sofa afterwards, and it took us a minute to shake off the tears and sadness.
‘It’s interesting as I’ve mainly been doing comedy, but soon we’re going to see some emotion from Freddie.’
Freddie will subsequently confront his former teacher at school, but just what will he have to say for himself?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
