Emmerdale boss reveals 'special' double funeral episodes for Faith and Liv

Sorry, this video isn’t available yet.

Emotions continue to run high in Emmerdale following Faith Dingle’s (Sally Dexter) death and the devastating storm that took Liv Flaherty’s (Isobel Steele) life.

Tomorrow night, the residents will gather together to say goodbye to these two characters.

At the funeral, an emotional Pollard (Chris Chittell) will read the letter Faith gave him – the final one to her loved ones, while Vinny (Bradley Johnson) will be taken aback when the entire village arrives to pay their respects.

Prepare for more tears as the episode promises to be moving and incredibly powerful, with producer Laura Shaw teasing: ‘We knew when we decided to do a joint funeral for Faith and Liv that it would need to be a very special and memorable funeral for two such hugely epic and much loved characters.

‘Having a scene featuring the entire adult cast was not something we had done before and given the funeral was taking place towards the end of our October 50th birthday month, it felt very right and fitting that we had the whole cast there to say goodbye.’

‘It was no easy feat for the Emmerdale production team to organise and execute and it wasn’t easy to shoot as the Dingles said farewell to not one but two of their beloved family, some of the tears that fell that day were absolutely real’, she added.

‘But behind the tears and sadness there was also a celebratory feel on set. A feeling of pride and honour that the October month was ending with all our villagers united on Main Street, demonstrating that love and warmth and togetherness that has kept Emmerdale on our screens for 50 years.’

An unwell Faith passed away before the storm arrived over the village.

The lead up to Faith’s death saw her spend time with her friends and family at the makeshift Emmerdale seaside.

After accepting she had definitely had a perfect day, Faith said her goodbyes to her loved ones and headed upstairs, planning on ending her life.

When Cain (Jeff Hordley) arrived, he initially wanted his mum to go to hospital but in the end, he gave into her wishes and held her in his arms, reflecting on the brilliant day at the beach.

Just days after Faith’s death, the Dingles faced more trauma when Liv’s life came to an end.

Liv and Vinny were attempting to make their way through the village during the storm when the relentless wind knocked a caravan over, crushing them both.

While Vinny’s injuries weren’t severe, the way the caravan landed on Liv meant her lower body had been completely crushed – any attempt at moving her would kill her immediately.

As village residents continue to grieve, this new video shows Aaron (Danny Miller), Vinny and Cain preparing themselves for the emotional day ahead.

Cain is hugged by Kyle (Huey Quinn), while Aaron stares at a photo of him and Liv.

And then there’s Vinny, who’s outside with his new dog – a pet him and Liv were planning on getting together – as the horse drawn carriages arrive with Liv and Faith’s coffins.
