Emmerdale boss teases return of familiar face that will delight fans

Emmerdale boss, Jane Hudson, has teased the return of a "familiar face" in the village, which will leave fans "delighted".

Speaking to press, including OK!, Jane revealed that there will be "at least one" summer wedding on the hit ITV soap, including Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd's.

And the "familiar face" returning is linked to one of the weddings as they come back to the village for the nuptials.

Jane said: "You all know we love a wedding, a summer wedding, in Emmerdale.

"I can tell you there is another wedding [as well as Charity and Mack's] – at least one – coming up before we get to the end of summer.

"I'm not going to tell you who, obviously. And we’ll be having a familiar face returning before the end of summer. I think the audience will be absolutely delighted when this familiar face makes a return to the show."

Jane added that the character will be back "for the foreseeable", teasing further: "Yes, the returning character is coming back for one of the weddings…"

Who could be the couple getting married and which character is set for a return?

This isn't the only character return as Emmerdale villain Thomas King is set for an "explosive" comeback to the hit ITV soap after ten years.

At first, Thomas', whose dad is late killer Carl King, return was reported but Jane confirmed details on Monday.

Jane said: "Jimmy’s nephew Tom King will be coming back into the show.

"He’s been living overseas for quite some time and then he’s come back to England.

"He’s qualified as a vet so I think we all probably know where he’s going to be working…

"And of course, Tom and Belle [Dingle] have a history. They see each other and they rekindle and then we will be on a journey with Tom and Belle for quite some time as we play out the story with them."
