Emmerdale couple torn apart by Moira Bartons life-changing decision

Emmerdale – Charity demands a divorce from Mack

Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) and Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) have admitted defeat after being financially crippled.

Moira recently told her partner Cain they must sell their beloved Yorkshire Dales farm.

Their farming legacy is over thanks to Cain’s half-brother Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).

Caleb sabotaged their machinery which resulted in their burgers being laced with metal.

This ruined all of Moira’s credibility as a farmer and her final customer pulled their contract in a move which put the nail in the coffin of her business.

Moira had no choice but to crawl to businesswoman Kim Tate (Claire King) and ask her to buy Butler’s Farm.

While she tried to shrug it off to Cain and told him she did not want to pass on the stress to their children, she is clearly broken underneath.

In scenes yet to air, Moira surprises Cain with the news that they have sold their cattle, and their farming life is ending.

How will the Emmerdale stalwart react to the huge announcement? Could the pair end up arguing over Moira’s decision?

Will selling the farm cause the couple to start bickering and worrying about their finances?

Caleb actor Will recently opened up to Express.co.uk about the storyline and his character’s involvement in bringing the farm to its knees.

He said: “[Caleb] gets into Moira and Cain’s ribs about the stud farm, I know that they are struggling a bit financially and maybe selling that land but they are not interested.

“But I need that [land] in order for the stud farm to go ahead so I sabotage Moira’s business.

“So the machinery they use for making burgers, I end up putting screws in their burgers. So their main supplier ends up pulling out – and he’s a big investor and he’s a big part of their income.

“Financially [Caleb] completely ruins them, they are already under a bit of financial pressure anyway but he completely ruins them.”

He teased: “But Caleb’s intention is once he cleans Kim out he will pay them back and sort them out financially.

“That’s his kind of masterplan but he falls into a corner a bit when the land falls through, he messes up the original sale of the land.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
