Emmerdale hit with complaints by angry viewers over Mary’s blackmail storyline

Emmerdale fans were not too happy over the latest drama in Mary’s blackmail storyline on the ITV soap.

As viewers will know, the retired journalist, played by actress Louise Jameson, was recently contacted by her scheming ex girlfriend Faye.

And up to her usual scheming ways, Faye told Mary that she would send a naked picture of her to everyone in her phone book – unless she withdrew her statement.

On Tuesday’s episode (July 18) Faye amped up the ante – demanding Mary to make her decision.

But viewers watching the show at home were left fuming as to why Mary didn’t just go to the police.

“Right Mary, just go to the police, tell them what Faye’s doing & end it ffs!” raged one person on Twitter.

Another added: “Why does no one call the police in Emmerdale when they're being blackmailed.. if it was me i'd say go ahead and post the picture, you took my good side.”

A third quipped: “Why would Mary even entertain this crap, she has proof of the blackmail attempt, just go to the police.”

Someone else chimed in and penned: “Really don't understand why Mary doesn't just go to the police.
