Emmerdale Meenas return sealed in Caleb murder twist as fans work out link

Emmerdale fans have 'worked out' a link between serial killer Meena Jutla and newcomer Caleb Milligan following his fateful fall in the soap.

Viewers saw Caleb pushed off the woodland ridge last night (June 15, 2023), as all eyes turned to who could be the culprit behind the crime.

While fingers are pointing towards residents including Cain Dingle, Kim Tate, Will Taylor and Mackenzie Boyd, could the culprit actually be a villain set to make an explosive return to the village?

Fans certainly seem to think so, after working out a connection between Meena and Caleb.

Viewers will remember that Defense Barrister Milligan was present for Meena's plea hearing in March 2022, where she pleaded "guilty" to kidnapping, false imprisonment, and attempted murder but she pleaded "not guilty" to the charges of murdering Ben Tucker, Andrea Tate and Leanna Cavanagh.

Defense Barrister Milligan later presented Meena's case at her trial.

However, plenty of fans have pointed out the legal worker has the same surname as Caleb – so could be she be Caleb's wife and Nicky's mum?

Viewers took to social media to point out the link between the two, with one saying: "Is Nicky's mum the Defence Barrister Milligan (Amy Robbins) from Meena's court plea hearing?

Another agreed: "His wife is Meena's barrister whose surname is also Milligan," while a third added: "I think Nicky's mum is Meena's barrister," a third shared.

More so, if the link proves to be correct, could Meena have escaped prison to take revenge on the Barrister by killing her potential husband Caleb?

While the truth is still to be revealed, there is still plenty of speculation about Meena's potential return from celebrities as well as fans.

Discussing the upcoming plot line on ITV daytime talk show This Morning, presenter Dermott O'Leary recently hinted that Emmerdale villain Meena could be behind the crime.

He questioned entertainment journalist Sharon Marshall about whether his prediction could be correct, but Sharon said this was "very unlikely," as Meena is currently in jail.

However, Sharon did add that Meena could be back in a shock twist and responsible for pushing Caleb.

Elsewhere, fans have predicted that another huge character could make a return to the dales in the Caleb murder plot – Joe Tate.

It was originally presumed that Joe was dead following an altercation with Cain Dingle, but it was later revealed that he was alive and living off money from Kim's business.

However, following the revelation that Caleb is Frank Tate's son and wants to win back his birth right of Home Farm, could Joe return to put a stop to Caleb's plan?

Fans seem to think so, with one asking: "Who do we think will push Caleb off the cliff then? Also do you think Joe Tate could return?"

A second penned: "I wonder if this will spark a Joe Tate comeback now that everything is out in the open."

"And still no answer to WHERE IS JOE TATE?," a third commented, with a fourth saying: "Does that mean Joe is still alive?"

Who could the culprit be? Viewers will have to wait to find out.
