Emmerdale spoilers for May 1, 2023: Suzy becomes suspicious of Faye
In Monday night’s episode of Emmerdale, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) finally gets her daughter Rhona’s (Zoe Henry) blessing to go on her dream trip to Ecuador.
Mary and Faye haven’t been together long but Faye (Jane Gurnett) has already invited her lover to start a new life with her, half way across the world.
The village favourite opened up about her sexuality last year, and met Faye on a dating app a few months ago.
She quickly fell in love with her, and after initially being unsure, agreed to make the move to Ecuador when Faye said she had to return because there was an alleged fire at the women’s centre.
However, in tonight’s installment, Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) expresses doubt about the trip after Faye is seen acting cagey about a bank transfer for the auction fund.

She discusses her suspicions with Mary, but Mary won’t have a a bad word said about Faye and sends her a large donation to double down on her commitment to her lover.
Suzy’s suspicions will turn out to be right though, as it will be revealed that Faye is a con-woman in scenes to air later this week.
Elsewhere in the village, classmates Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) and Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher) finally agree to go on a date.
Marshall has had a tough time of late, dealing with his dad’s homophobia, after he was kicked out of the house when he revealed he was gay, ahead of the anniversary of his mum’s death.
In scenes aired last week, Marshall was left hospitalised after binge drinking with Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling).
However, his new romance will lift his spirits and help him to recover.
In other scenes to air tonight, Cathy assures Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) that he is still being the best dad possible by letting her go.
Cathy has been struggling with period pains and mood swings of late, which have led to reckless behaviour.
GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) believe that Cathy has Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder but Cathy reaches breaking point after she is unable to get an official diagnosis.
Following her binge drinking session with Marshall, Cathy flies off the handle, and accidentally scratches her dad with her keys, drawing blood.
Cathy then decides to leave the village, and everyone gives her a tearful goodbye.
Emmerdale is on ITV One at 7:30pm on Monday
