Emmerdale spoilers: Missing Paddy in hiding as his family are left in agony

Concern is growing for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) in Emmerdale as he remains alone and missing from the village.

The beloved character has struggled with his mental health in the aftermath of Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) affair being revealed.

Initially, Paddy reacted with anger and told Chas there was no way their relationship could survive.

However, when Chas told her Dingle relatives that she’s truly sorry for everything that happened – and they began to forgive her – the situation with Paddy started to change.

Feeling lonely, Paddy has put his friendships under strain with the likes of Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Vinny (Bradley Johnson), who was angry when Paddy made a conversation relating to Liv (Isobel Steele) about himself.

Following an evening with Mandy (Lisa Riley), which led to the former couple sleeping together, Paddy has now gone missing.

As the village residents gather together, CCTV footage of Paddy is played.

When PC Swirling reveals the plan is to scale back their search after seeing Paddy on the video, Bear (Joshua Richards) is angry and heads out, leaving others to wonder whether Paddy actually wants to come home at all.

The next day, after finding Paddy’s hiding spot at a guest house, Mandy and Chas work together to try and find him, but remain unaware Paddy has spotted them from a distance, not actually ready to be found yet.

As Paddy’s friends and family do their upmost to try and find him, will they ever bring him home, given he has no desire to come back to the village whatsoever?

The emotional scenes form part of a storyline that will focus on Paddy’s deep depression; one that will see him contemplate taking his own life.

‘As soon as we started discussing this story we knew that it was vital for us to get it right and that we needed to open up the conversation about male depression and suicide,’ Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw explained.

‘Paddy is usually very happy-go-lucky in life, always joking and having a laugh, but what we see is that recent events have really taken their toll.
