Emmerdale’s Alex Lincoln talks return as bosses are ‘desperate to get him back’

Emmerdale villain Jamie Tate may be making his return to the Yorkshire Dales, actor Alex Lincoln has revealed.

The actor portrayed the villainous son of Kim Tate from 2019 to 2021 and was involved in a number of dramatic storylines, including trying to poison his mum, and at one point pushing his mother-in-law down some stairs.

He made a swift exit from the village in September when he drove into a lake and faked his death. His reappearance could come as quite a shock to many residents, with most assuming him to be dead.

Discussing the possibility of returning to the long-running ITV soap, Alex has confirmed that he has been in talks with show bosses.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "Yes definitely, It's a conversation that I've had quite a few times. At the moment I'm quite enjoying this vibe and writing, so we'll see what happens in the future."

He continued: "I loved it there. It was the first place I worked at and I try to keep up as much as I can.

"I'm still friends with the cast, I still see Lawrence [Robb] a little bit, not as much as I'd like to as I don't go up north that much anymore. But I do speak to quite a few people."

If Jamie does make his return to the Dales, he may find himself embroiled in the current storyline engulfing the Tate family.

Kim recently received an anonymous letter from a solicitor, which claimed to be acting on behalf of her ex-husband Frank’s “illegitimate son” and informed her that he was seeking to make a claim on his father’s estate.

Although none the wiser to the identity of the mysterious son in question, viewers at home discovered last week that the mysterious heir is Kim’s current business partner Caleb Miligan, who along with his son Home Farm nanny Nicky, is hoping to scam Kim out of millions.

In the same episode, Kim visited her late husband Frank’s grave, where a white rose had been left in his memory.

Startled by the tribute, Kim initially appeared wary, before bending down to pick up the bloom and snap it between her fingers.

"You won't win Frank," she insisted. "You never could with me.”

As Kim walked away, Caleb emerged from the shadows and approached his father’s grave, but only to issue a chilling warning to his father’s former lover.

"You'll get what's coming,” he ominously said.
