Four in a Bed guests clash over breakfast choice

Four in a Bed: Guests clash over lack of cooked breakfast offering

After getting settled in, all three groups of guests were keen to have a look around their rooms to find out if anything wasn’t up to their standards.

Anthony took them to the British National Motor Museum, where historical figures such as presidents had ridden in some of the 300 cars.

After a day of exploring at the British National Motor Museum, the guests hit the hay for the night, before heading down for their continental breakfast the next day.

Despite both Ash and Rosie and Phil being happy with the continental options, Lorraine expressed that she felt underwhelmed and would have preferred a cooked breakfast.

Getting their food, Lorraine quipped: “It is a nice selection but it doesn’t take a lot to put out a continental breakfast, does it?

“The selection was good, there were plenty of choices and I think you can say that he has good quality, but it is no cooking, there is no skill required.”

Sitting back in the dining room, she added: “Pineapple is fresh, not from a tin which is nice. It is a nice selection but it is all stuff where you take it out of a packet and put it on a plate.”

Overhearing her comments, Rosie interjected and asked: “Is that a problem for you Lorraine?” to which she explained: “It would have been nice to be able to sample a cooked breakfast.”

Back in the room and still unimpressed with the breakfast, she said: “My breakfast is a lot more hands-on than Anthony’s, mine takes a bit more to do because it is more traditional. I come out, I speak to you, and you tell me exactly what you want to eat.”

Finally, it came down to giving their scores, with Lorraine and Kate awarding his breakfast an eight, commenting: “Choice was good, well presented. No skill required.”

Both Phil and Ash and Rosie awarded Anthony a 10 out of 10 for the continental breakfast, with them both agreeing that he could charge more.

Having a look at the comments and how he was scored on the breakfast from Lorraine and Kate, he said: “I think that is quite low, to be honest with you.

“It does take skill to present the food out on a continental breakfast. ‘Traditional option would have been welcomed’ not sure what that means if I am honest.”

Viewers of the show were left annoyed with Lorraine’s comments, as Twitter user Natalie Feltham fumed: “#fourinabed No Skill!? Bloody rude.”

@pennypink4 commented: “At least this is a proper continental breakfast not just cereal and pastries. I’d be very happy with that. #fourinabed.”

@Eegrayne added: “I like continental if it’s done well. Too much fried food gives me indigestion #fourinabed.”
