GMB fans distracted as Laura Tobin replaced on ITV breakfast show amid shake-up

Good Morning Britain viewers were left rubbing their eyes during the latest edition of the ITV breakfast show.

Charlotte Hawkins and Ed Balls woke up the nation with the latest headlines on Monday morning (July 25).

They welcomed weather presenter Des Coleman to the studio as regular meteorologist Laura Tobin enjoys her summer holiday break.

The huge cast shake-up didn't go unnoticed by viewers watching at home.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "What the hell was that weather bulletin all about? Where is Laura Tobin?"

Another added: "Where did they get the new weather man from?"

A third person posted: "Love Des. He is great.'

While a fourth social media user said: "Laura must be taking a break."GMB fans distracted as Laura Tobin replaced on ITV show in major channel shake-up

It's not the first time actor, singer and weather presenter Des, 47, has appeared on GMB.

He made his debut back in September 2020 and fans will remember he was scolded by former presenter Piers Morgan on his first day.

A technical glitch meant Des' weather segment was cut short forcing host Piers to rush to his seat early without having his microphone clipped properly.

Piers later advised his new colleague: "Des, rule one mate: you don’t end early.

"While I’m in make-up being beautified, you don’t end early. "

"'Des the weather guy has ended early', I’m like what? Why’s he done that? Just keep talking about the weather."

Susanna Reid interjected: "Do not blame the weather presenter, it’s his first day. It’s not his fault. The camera shot froze which meant."

Des then reappeared and hit back: "Susanna, I love you.

"Piers, it’s my first day and you can’t even cut a young man, a good looking guy a break."

The former newspaper editor replied: "So far, all you’ve done is call yourself good-looking.

"One rule: A, stop talking. Now I’ve heard you talking twice in the past half hour and all you’ve done is call yourself good-looking, beautiful, people that go on about how good-looking they are, they speak too much."

Laura is not the only regular cast member taking time off for summer.

Last week, Susanna Reid informed viewers she was taking a lengthy break until September.
