GMB star Noel Philips reveals horror after being robbed and spat on – as his teen attacker, 17, escapes jail | The Sun

A GOOD Morning Britain presenter has told of being racially abused and spat on during a horror mugging by a teenager.

Noel Phillips, the ITV show's US Correspondent, was repeatedly called the N-word by the 17-year-old thief.

The lout snatched his necklace and spat in his face before running off down a busy London street.

The juvenile, later arrested after being chased by Noel, appeared before magistrates where the judge handed down a rehabilitation order.

Recalling the September 2022 attack, Noel told The Mirror: “I was completely shocked. I didn't realise what was happening.

"He was trying to pull my bag and everything around my neck. My T-shirt was ripped."

Noel's attacker later tripped and fell after a 90 second pursuit, allowing the presenter to restrain him.

“That's when [the robber] got verbal, spitting and then using the N-word. I had to wipe the spit away from my face", he recalled.

Noel told how the situation went from "a silly teenager" mugging him to a "full blown racial and physical attack".

In the weeks after the incident, Noel says his "world turnedupside down", even struggling to have people come up close behind him.
