On Thursday's programme (January 26), the two presenters discussed the latest showbiz news with fellow co-star Ranvir Singh.

Though during the TV chitchat, Richard made a quip about having "pillow talk" with Adil, who bantered back and said Richard "kept him awake".

While promoting a new Channel 5 drama called The Inheritance, which Adil is starring in, Richard said: "Oh, this is about you. Can I plug you, sir?"

To which Adil responded: "Yes, you can plug me as much as you like."

"You're back on the box in a new drama series you told me about this last night, a bit of pillow talk," Richard explained.

Adil laughed: "Yeah, you did keep me awake so I had to keep the conversation going."

Earlier on the show, GMB viewers became torn with Adil's presenting skills and shared their thoughts on social media – with many claiming they "switched off" the show.

On fan wrote: "Please @GMB stop putting Adil Ray on in the mornings. Time to switch off!!"

A second added: "I have switch off all ready. The worst presenter ever so annoying."

While a third penned: "Adil is excelling himself today, telling GMB guests to “calm down” in the political spot …all be it humorously… when he is ranting, shouting over the lady sitting with Kevin! Unable to self-regulate himself in the moment … it’s NOT about him .. as he thinks it is."

However, a fourth wrote: "Adil is a great presenter, full of energy and smart too. Brings humour to the show."

Others commented on Adil and Ranvir together, and said: "#GMB Adil and Ranvir – good god! It's as if you want to piss people off as soon as they wake up! Bad combo, 2 bad presenters don't suddenly become any better when you put them together."

While another praised: "#GMB Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh great combination the best to date."
