Gogglebox viewers fuming as show stars Abbie and Georgia make embarrassing blunder | The Sun

GOGGLE viewers were left fuming after Abbie and Georgia made a very embarrassing blunder.

Over the years, the pair have become favourites with their hilarious comments and on-screen banter, but last night had fans seething.

But during yesterday's episode of Gogglebox their hapless attitude left viewers shouting at their TV sets

Things took a slightly awkward turn when the cast watched an episode from the BBC mini-series, Great Expectations, which is based on one of Charles Dickens' books.

While watching the show, Abbie and Georgia struggled to recognise who the famous novelist was.

Turning to her friend, Abbie said: “Do you know who Charles Dickens is?”

“Do I hell,” Georgia hit back, to which Abbie responded: “I think he writes a book called Twit and T**t.”

Both of the women seemed completely confused, and may have been talking about Roald Dahl who wrote the Twits, or were thinking of Dickens' bookOliver Twist.

Fans immediately took to Twitter to vent, with one saying: “I'm sorry, you can't live in England and not have heard of Charles Dickens-Twist is a school staple. 5 different versions of Christmas Carol are on every year. What school did these girls go to?”

Another tweeted:“Gogglebox I am in despair – do none of these people know Charles Dickens, even less, read any of his books??"

Abbie and Georgia from Durham joined the Gogglebox cast for season 12.

The pair are best friends and have been appearing on the show since 2018.

It's fair to say they have had their fair share of memorable moments.

In one iconic episode, the duo were sat on the sofa watching Mariah’s Magical Christmas Special, with Abbie exclaiming: "2020 has been saved by Mariah Carey."

While Georgia added: "And that’s all it took."

The official Gogglebox account shared the clip to social media, only for it to be retweeted by Mariah Carey herself.

Posting three crying laughter emojis, the pop legend tweeted: "Love this."

Meanwhile, away from the spotlight, Abbie has worked in finance since 2019.
