Goggleboxs Dave and Shirley confirm show return date leaving fans excited

Gogglebox fans could barely contain their excitement after fan faves Dave and Shirley Griffiths revealed they would be back in September.

The pair first appeared as armchair critics on the Channel 4 show seven years ago and since then they have built up quite a fanbase.

The TV stars are currently on a break before the show returns.

But they have now told fans they will be back in a matter of weeks.

Sharing a snap on Instagram of them sat in front of an inviting-looking pool, they wrote: "Happy holidays, see you all in September."

Dave and Shirley were bombarded with excited messages from viewers after their announcement.

One posted in the comments section: "Happy Holidays you lovelies, hope you're having a well earned holiday. Can't wait to see you both in September, till then cheers."

"My faves have a great time you deserve it," said another.

One fan chimed in: "Miss you both."

"Have a wonderful time see you in September, miss your banter so much," someone else wrote.

One fan said that Dave and Shirley were their "favourite, fun loving couple," adding: "Can't wait till September, happy holidays."

"Roll on September!" said another.

A viewer from Down Under posted: "We love you guys here in Australia! See you in September x."

Other fans said how well the TV stars looked as they soaked up the sun on their break.

"Absolutely gorgeous picture of you both," one person posted, while another said their holiday spot looked "lush".

"G'wan Dave, give Shirley a snog!" one fan teased.

Dave and Shirley first joined the TV series in 2015 and have been a real hit with viewers.

The pair are both in their 60s and they have been married for more than 45 years.
