Goggleboxs Jenny and Lee issue apology as they make huge show announcement

Gogglebox favourites issues an apology to their fans on Instagram as they made a big announcement about the show's return.

The fan-favourite Channel 4 show returns Friday night (February 24), and viewers have been excited to have loveable duo Jenny and Lee back on their screens.

However the long-time friends released an apology to viewers alongside a video of them sat on their sofa, which has become famous thanks to their time on Gogglebox.

The video was their first Instagram post since December, with Lee opening up by saying: "Hi, we're back!"

Jenny then went on: "We're still the same, still sat on the sodding lumpy cushions."

Lee then jumped in and added: "We're still as daft as ever," with Jenny agreeing: "Yeah, you're right there!"

The duo then confirmed that they were back in filming and would be appearing in the first episode – however they still apologised to fans.

They captioned the fun clip: "Sorry folks we are back see you all on Friday 9pm."

The apology fell on deaf ears though – because their followers were ecstatic with the news that they would soon be back on television.

One person said: "My favourite duo back in action."

Another commented: "I missed you guys can't wait for Friday."

A third said: "Aww welcome back, could do with a few belly laughs."

And someone else added: "Oh I missed you both can't wait to see you again Lee and Jenny."

Jenny and Lee shared the video on Twitter too, but this time said: "So here we go again wow. Series 21 this Friday 9pm, see ya Friday."

While Jenny and Lee are back, one fan-favourite duo who won't be back are couple Mica Ven and Marcus Luther, who announced they'd left the show.

The Channel 4 show is yet to reveal whether there will be any new cast members, but fans are sure to be excited either way.

Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4
