Helen Skelton shares past Corrie stint as she laughs off Strictly fix claims
Helen Skelton revealed she once enjoyed an acting stint on the legendary soap Coronation Street.
Before the new Strictly Come Dancing recruit, 39, rose to fame as the beautiful Blue Peter presenter of the mid-noughties, the TV star appeared in a number of other shows in an effort to break into the TV industry.
This meant that the broadcaster could stretch her acting abilities as she appeared on the TV show Cold Feet in addition to the ITV soap in order to earn some extra cash during her university studies.

But it didn’t take long before the starlet made a name for herself in children’s television after she decided life as an actress on the Cobbles wasn’t for her.
Speaking to The Express, the TV presenter opened up about what it was like to work on the iconic Manchester set as she shared some of the trade secrets from the long-standing show.
She told the publication: “I’m no actress, I mean I have so much respect for them. I’m always like, ‘I watch you at work and it’s a foreign language to me’.”
The Countryfile presenter appeared in a slew of episodes back in the day where she made brief cameos on the ITV show and even worked alongside some of the fan-favourite stars.
Helen added: “It gave me – when you go on and be on a set like that – I just got to watch how things were done and gain vital experience.
“I was In the Rovers loads of times, so you just sit and drink grape juice, which they obviously put in there as wine. I had to stand next to Hayley Cropper a few times, so that was good.”
It comes as the blonde beauty and her fellow celebrity contestants prepare for the launch of the 20th series of Strictly which is set to air in just a matter of weeks.

The first official trailer for the BBC One dance competition first aired on social media on Wednesday as the famous recruits started rehearsing with their celebrity novice partners for the first time earlier this week.
She went on to discuss her upcoming appearance on the beloved talent show on Wednesday when she joined Lorraine Kelly on the sofa, as she quickly laughed off “fix” claims.
During the show, the mum-of-three revealed that she may have quite the advantage on her fellow contestants as she revealed how she was quite a keen tap dancer in her youth.
When the Scott asked whether her previous dance experience will help her on Strictly, to which she chuckled: “I find that so funny, you know they said, ‘It’s a fix!’ Helen’s a tap-dancing champion!’”
