Holly Willoughby used barrier rituals to cut-off from Phil amid feud rumours

Alison Hammond confirms Holly Willoughby This Morning return

It has been reported Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are “not as close as they once were” and “barely speak off camera”.

However, Phillip put on a brave face during Thursday’s instalment of This Morning alongside the mother-of-three despite body language expert Judi James claiming Holly was “less comfortable”.

She suggested Holly was “using some barrier rituals to suggest a cut-off from Phil” as they tried to put on a united front.

Judi also said Phillip’s non-verbal response to recent rumours of rifts “seemed to have been borrowed from the Prince Harry handbook of body language”.

“Phil adopted a jaunty, almost cocky air, using some overkill rituals and facial expressions and some status-and-power splaying to suggest resilience and defiance,” Judi told Mail Online.

Reflecting on Holly’s mannerisms, the expert shared: “[She] looked less comfortable, using some barrier rituals to suggest a cut-off from Phil, with the couple’s normal synchronicity falling apart at times.”

During the latest instalment of This Morning, the pair hosted a segment about fake tan.

Judi explained: “Their micro-gestures hinted at inner tension. Phil sucked his lips in before performing a tongue-poke of dislike or rejection at one point when Holly spoke and she was seen to rub her forehead, suggesting anxiety.”

The bookmakers have predicted the iconic television duo could “split” by the end of the year.

Ladbrokes have given Holly and Phillip odds of 4/5 to not be presenting This Morning by the end of 2023.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told Express.co.uk: “Phil and Holly’s relationship is reportedly on the rocks and with a whole host of potential replacements ready and waiting.

“It’s now looking more likely than ever that the pair will call it a day on This Morning.”

The odds come after it was reported the pair have “drifted” apart earlier this week.

Holly and Phil have been presenting This Morning together for the past 14 years, and they also host Dancing On Ice.

Express.co.uk has contacted a This Morning representative for comment on the speculation.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
