Lucy-Jo Hudson has become a soap icon as Katy Harris in Coronation Street and Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks.

However, her acting career has not only brought her soap fame, but also sweet co-star romances too.

After stepping onto the cobbles in 2002, Lucy found love with another huge star from the ITV show – and later tied the knot with them too.

She has since found romance with another of her co-stars away from the soaps, and here, Daily Star takes a closer look inside Lucy-Jo Hudson's love life.

    On-set romance

Lucy Jo-Hudson rose to fame on Coronation Street as teenager Katy Harris between 2002 and 2005 – and it was not only fame she found, but romance too.

She and Corrie co-star Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs, hit it off on set and later married in 2009.

Together they welcomed a daughter called Sienna-Rae in 2013, with Lucy sharing the news of their daughter's birth on Twitter saying: "Our baby girl arrived fashionably late on the 7th September. We are proud parents to Sienna-Rae Halsall she is a dream xxx."

Alan also tweeted: ""Lucy-Jo & I are delighted to announce the arrival of our little girl born this morning. Mother & baby are home with a very proud Father."

The two often took to social media to gush about one another, with Lucy posting a sweet throwback snap of their wedding day on Instagram in 2017 to celebrate their eighth anniversary.

The snap showed the couple kissing on the big day, with the actress captioning the post: "Happy Anniversary Baby, 8 years today I married my best mate @alanhalsall. I love you."

    Co-star split

Coronation Street fans were left devastated in 2016 when Lucy and Alan announced that they were splitting up.

The couple confirmed their split in a joint statement together, saying: "Lucy-Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall are sad to announce that they have separated.

"They have shared many wonderful years together and will remain close friends.

"They ask for privacy at this emotional time, to allow both to focus on their beautiful daughter Sienna-Rae, to ensure her continued happiness."

However just a few weeks later, Lucy and Alan rekindled their romance, with the Tyrone Dobbs star whisking Lucy away on a romantic trip to Paris, France for her 33rd birthday.

He revealed the beautiful surprise during a tweet as he gushed about his wife, saying: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife @LucyJo_Hudson who is 33 today. Love you so much darling, and cannot wait for Paris."

Further heartbreak was to follow though, as Lucy and Alan split permanently just two years later.

A source told The Sun that they still "really cared" for one another and that the couple vowed to stay friends, saying: "It’s very amicable but they’ve decided to go their separate ways.

"Alan’s been joking that he’s having a mid-life crisis and he went and treated himself to a brand new car five days ago. It’s a difficult time for both of them.

"They’re devastated the marriage is over but have vowed to stay friends. They still really care for each other."

Lucy confirmed news of their divorce in a statement, saying: "I can confirm Al and I are in the process of divorcing. We remain friends and devoted Mummy and Daddy to our daughter Sienna."

Alan is in a relationship with girlfriend Tisha Merry, while Lucy has found romance with actor Lewis Devine.

    Parenting 'difficulties'

The actress has opened up about the difficulties of co-parenting, sharing an emotional post in 2021 saying how much she missed her daughter, after Sienna was away from home on holiday with her father.

Sharing a photograph of her and Sienna on Instagram, the star captioned the post: "I cannot wait to get my girl home tonight.

"It never gets any easier when she goes away, I miss her so much!!! But I know she will have had the best time… Hurry home baby, miss you, especially your little brother."

Lucy-Jo also spoke to OK! magazine and said that despite their best attempts, she admitted co-parenting is "challenging".

She said: "Everybody who has a blended family knows it’s not easy. You can’t pretend that it is."

    'Instant chemistry'

Lucy is now in a relationship with partner Lewis Devine, who she met while working on a production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the St.Helens Theatre Royal, Merseyside in 2018.

The couple had an "instant chemistry," but their romance did not blossom until months later.

A source told The Sun: "Lucy-Jo and Lewis shared an instant chemistry, but obviously she was married and didn’t act on it.

"After trying for months, she and Alan called time on their marriage and something slowly developed with Lewis."

Lucy and Lewis were delighted to announce the birth of their son Carter in 2020, with the actress saying in a social media post: "I love you very much @lewisdevine. Thank you for giving me my other little miracle… Carter Ray Devine!!! xx."

However speaking to OK! Magazine, Lucy revealed that Carter's birth had been a "terrifying ordeal" as her son's heart rate and oxygen levels had began to drop prior to his birth.

"I was pushing when just 5cm dilated even though the nurses and midwives told me not to," said Lucy.

"My body just seemed to take over and do it instinctively. Then we suffered a few complications. His heart rate and oxygen levels dropped. He was getting stuck, we couldn’t get him out. A doctor came in and that’s when I knew things had got serious."

She added: "It’s terrifying because you feel so out of control."

Lucy's partner Lewis also praised the staff who looked after Lucy and Carter, and helped to deliver their son safely, adding: "It was really worrying, but the staff could not have been better. They stayed calm which helped us, too."

The actress also shared a beautiful post of daughter Sienna-Rae pushing Carter in his pram, saying: "I am so proud of you my girl…I knew she would be the best 'big sis' ever. She is just amazing with her little bro! I am feeling very grateful right now."
