Hollyoaks star reveals 'life will never be the same' amid Warren twists
Hollyoaks is about to explode the dangerous cat and mouse game between killers Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and ‘Undertaker’ Norma Crow (Glynis Barber).
It’s no secret that a colossal stunt in the village will rip lives apart – and kill major characters from the cast.
And away from this spectacle, the drama is just as high, with Jamie telling Metro.co.uk in an interview that there are equally powerful scenes for Warren and Norma.
Warren is on a mission to murder, after discovering that she has threatened the life of his son Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed).
‘It’s weird, because it’s okay for him to do it – he’s threatened Joel’s life a few times!’ laughed Jamie, when we caught up with him.
‘But if anybody else does it – no, not allowed, they’re crossing a line there and he will make them pay for that. It’s a very strange way of looking at things but that’s how his head works.
‘What happens is Warren finds out that somebody has left a funeral service with Joel’s picture and name on it and he knows it’s Norma and he’s like, “That’s it, you’ve crossed a line” and he goes to kill her.
‘You’ll see what happens! It’s so good. There’s more revelations to be unleashed. They’re fantastic episodes and I can’t wait for the audience and the fans to see it. They’ll be shocked.’
And what follows is a major showdown, leading to a fall that almost kills them both.
In the middle of all of this, a massive secret comes to light, which Jamie promises will have long reaching ramifications forever for his alter ego.
‘There is so much that happens as a result of this, even the stuff I was filming today, it’s relentless and all brilliant stuff and I’m just made up that I get to work with Glynis on it day in and day out. I’m really grateful for it.’
Jamie has yet to watch the episodes, but he has been buoyed by the reaction from show boss Lucy Allan, who told him how grateful she is and ‘how amazed she was when she watched them.’
It seems like the audience are going to be equally impressed. And the build up and aftermath all form part of the ride – the stunts aren’t the only focal point of a story which gains even more momentum afterwards.
‘Even the episodes before that, the stuff that’s coming up where he finds out that Joel was the one that ran him over, it’s all really powerful, strong stuff,’ the actor enthused.
‘The stuff that we’re filming now, what happens to Warren – oh my days, it’s just like one thing after another.
‘Let’s just say that things are never going to be the same again after that week.
‘It’s exciting times, for sure. It can’t be like it all the time but when you get that stuff you rise to the occasion and do your best work.’
And Jamie explained that the atmosphere at Hollyoaks is more on fire than the village itself and shared his delight at being a part of it.
‘For me personally, I love working there, I love my job. The people just make the place and it’s such a cliche but it is a family.
‘I’ve been there for a long time now and I love going in to work. The atmosphere’s great there at the moment and long may it continue. We’ve just got to keep flying high and doing good stuff.’
If next week’s episodes are anything to go by, there’s no danger of that flagging any time soon.
Jamie grinned: ‘I think they wanted to do something really spectacular and they’ve certainly gone all-out with it. I think the fans are going to love it. Everybody’s in for a big treat and a big surprise.’
