House Of The Dragon bosses vow to fix error after fans notice glaring mistake

HBO are set to fix a glaring mistake fans spotted in the third episode of Game of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon.

An eagle-eyed viewer spotted the green VFX glove covering two of actor Paddy Considine's fingers which should've been used to remove his character King Viserys's fingers from the shot.

King Viserys was passing a roll of parchment to a soldier, intended for his brother Daemon, played by Matt Smith, when fans spotted the mistake.

King Viserys lost two of his fingers during his struggle with an infected wound after he cut himself on the Iron Throne which viewers saw in episode two.

In a gruesome scene, viewers watched doctors pour maggots over the wound to help remove the dead flesh.

House Of The Dragon bosses and HBO have confirmed they'd fix the error but the fix will only be seen on streaming platforms as the episode has already been aired.

News of the mistake comes a week after series co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik announced he'd be stepping down from his role in the already-confirmed second season.

He said of his departure: "Working within the Thrones universe for the past few years has been an honour and a privilege, especially spending the last two with the amazing cast and crew of House of the Dragon.

"I am so proud of what we accomplished with season one and overjoyed by the enthusiastic reaction of our viewers," he wrote in his statement.

Cast member Steve Toussaint, who plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, was particularly gutted about Sapochnik's departure from the series and admired his "artistic vision" whilst wishing him well.

He said: "While personally I'm disappointed, because I think he has a great artistic vision, I understand, for the good of his health, he's got to take a long break and recharge himself and decide what else he wants to do next to that."
