The show is set to begin filming in London and South America later this year under the codename Steelworks.

While yet to be formally greenlit by bosses at Amazon and the BBC, The Night Manager is set to receive a two-season order.

The programme helped catapult Tom to new levels – with rumours rife he was a hot contender to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.

However, producer Barbara Broccoli was said to be unimpressed with his doomed public fling with Taylor Swift.

Tom was seen wearing a now infamous "I heart TS" tank top while messing about with her friends in the sea.

Explaining the snaps which went viral, Tom previously said: "The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back.

And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, 'Does anyone have a T-shirt?' And one of her friends said, 'I've got this' … And we all laughed about it. It was a joke."
