Twenty years ago, Vince (Skrein) was the frontman of a chart-topping boy band. Now he’s busking in the streets of Peckham with a keyboard perched on an ironing board.

But he gets another taste of fame when a video of one of his street performances goes viral on social media.

The star of the clip isn’t him but young autistic boy Stevie (neurodivergent actor Leo Long) who turned the solo performance into an impromptu jamming session by thumping a metal bin with his drumsticks.

After tracking the kid down, Vince tries to persuade him to form a two-man band and perform a gig in a local pub.

But first, he’ll have to win over Stevie’s protective mum (Eleanor Matsuura) who is worried her son won’t cope with the noise and attention.

The plot is predictable but Skrein keeps us rooting for the wounded but big-hearted Vince.
