I'm A Celeb 2022 contestants forced into isolation for a week under strict ITV rules | The Sun

I’M A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! stars will be forced into isolation for seven days before heading to the camp.

Contestants are jetting into Australia a week earlier than usual to allow time to quarantine and test for coronavirus before the ITV show is set to be broadcast on Sunday, November 6.

It comes as bosses have signed a bumper line-up for the flagship reality show including the first ever Royal signing with Mike Tindall and singer Boy George.

A source close to the show suggested the celebrities are arriving earlier than previous years to isolate and test before entering camp.

An insider said: “Bosses want to make sure that the return to Australia is as smooth as possible and want to eliminate any risk of an outbreak that would throw the camp into chaos.

“Luckily for the celebs they will have a week to get over their jet lag and will be craving human contact by the time they reach the Jungle.

“However it does mean that the stars will be away from their loved ones for even longer this year which could see tensions rise.”

In previous years the celebrities touched down in Oz just a few days before heading into the Jungle.

But this series marks the return of the show to its Aussie base since 2019 after the pandemic forced ITV to stage its biggest show in Gwrych Castle, Wales.

However production for the show was almost jeopardised as ITV bosses were forced to close the camp in Australia just days before the celebs are set to arrive after torrential rain and floods hit the area.

Work on the set was cancelled, with all crew forced off site by the extreme conditions, just days before the celebrities are due to check in to the camp.

A local source said: “The camp was closed yesterday due to the extreme rain. No staff were allowed on site because it was too dangerous.

“They were told to get out of the area and totally downed tools.
