Inside Gregg Wallace's surprising career before MasterChef fame that made him MILLIONS | The Sun
GREGG Wallace has been a familiar face on TV for years now thanks to his role as a judge on Masterchef.
The 57-year-old also works on spin-off shows Masterchef: The Professionals and Celebrity Masterchef and has become well-known for his love of sweet treats.
However, before finding fame on the BBC show, Gregg worked with much healthier produce as a fruit and veg man.
Gregg, who was born in Peckham, London and aged 15, started working at Covent Garden fruit and veg market as a warehouseman.
He then progressed to be a salesman, before it was suggested he set up his own business.
Gregg founded George Allan's Greengrocers in 1989, and over the years it grew so much that it had a turnover of £7.5 million.

Gregg's experience in the world of fruit and veg lead to him co-hosting Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 with Charlie Hicks for seven years.
He then became the first host of Saturday Kitchen in 2002, a role he held for a year before being replaced by Antony Worrall Thompson in 2003.
Gregg moved on to host food-related shows on the Discovery Channel and The Food Channel before joining Masterchef alongside John Torode in 2005.
Gregg has been married four times and has three children, however, he revealed in a previous interview that he didn't eat well when he was a single man despite his food-related job.

He told the Big Issue: "I didn’t look after myself particularly well in those first years of living alone.
"My diet was fish finger sandwiches, fry ups, McDonald’s and kebabs.
“If I could go back to talk to my younger self I’d tell him to start eating healthier. I’d say, mate, learn to cook.
“A whole new world of opportunity will open up for you. Just buy two steaks in the supermarket, go home and put them in a pan.
“Get two slices of bread. You’ll be fine, honestly. It’s really, really easy to do. I promise you’ll like it, you’ll like it a great deal.”
In recent years, Gregg has lost an incredible four and a half stone and regularly shows off his ripped physique on social media.
