Jane McDonald sets her sights on major BBC show away from hit travel series | The Sun
JANE McDonald has set her sights on a major BBC show away from her hit travel series.
Jane, 59, has won a legion of fans through her various travel programmes on Channel 5.
The star has also fronted a series of musical specials for the network where she shows off the singing skills that first caught the public's attention on The Cruise back in the 1990s.
But Jane has revealed how she would love to be part of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, which has been airing on BBC Three since 2019.
She said: "I think it’s the best thing that’s hit TV, because it’s brought a complete new genre into our industry, which has been given the light it should have had for an awful long time.
"I just love it and I get a lot of my hairstyles and make-up tips from the show and I look at the queens sometimes and think, oh my God, that’s me."

She continued to Entertainment Daily at its 2022 Awards: "I’ve got the big hair. I love the shoulder pads, I love all that. I might do a bit of padding myself.
"I’ve always said, if I wasn’t a woman, I’d be a man in drag. Absolutely.
"I love being camp. That’s the whole thing! We’re in show business for goodness sake. I love to bring that camp-ness to it – that’s just how I am."
The UK version of Drag Race sees RuPaul judge alongside Michelle Visage as well as Alan Carr or Graham Norton.

While Jane is yet to be added to that list of guest judges, she is beyond grateful for the career she has had so far.
Speaking about her fans, she said: “I owe them a great deal. They really did get me through a very difficult time in my life.
"I genuinely care about them. I genuinely love them and I think you have to love your fans to get that love back."
