Jeremy Clarkson reveals Who Wants to Be a Millionaire's most disastrous moment ever as contestant 'f***s up' jackpot | The Sun

JEREMY CLARKSON has teased a contestant's dramatic £124k loss as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? returns this Saturday.

A new series of the much-loved quiz show is back on our screens this week – with returning host Jeremy Clarkson.

The host has teased that viewers will witness the most costly final answer in the show’s history as a contestant loses £124,000.

He said: "I think we've had our biggest ever drop. Somebody went to £125,000 without a safety net and – can I say this? – they f***ed it up.

"That really was an extremely alarming moment. Horrific. Can you imagine going home after you’ve lost £124,000?"

But that is not the only historic moment.

Jeremy also revealed how the audience got the first opening question wrong.

He said: "I think it's the first time that they got the simple £1,000 question wrong."

He added: "It's lovely to see people win and just as lovely to see people when they don’t."

The former Top Gear host admitted he prefers doing the regular version to the celebrity specials.

"With the celeb one I haven't got a f***ing clue who half the people are," he confessed.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? airs Saturdays at 9:30pm on ITV.
